Quiz Bowl - Des Moines' Original Team Trivia Event for Charity
How to Play Team Trivia
TEAMS:
Each team will consist of up to eight players and all teams need to be pre-registered.
QUESTIONS:
The Quiz Bowl will consist of nine different categories. There will be nine rounds of questions (one question per round from each category). Questions will be read twice and then teams will be given time to answer before going to the next question. There will be a break between Round 5 and 6. Categories for the Quiz Bowl will be kept secret until that night, and as always, one of the categories will be about the Beacon of Life.
SCORING:
Complete Quiz Bowl rules will be handed out the night of the event. Each question will be worth a different point value and the point value will be labeled on the answer sheets. The winning team is the team with the most points. Prizes will be awarded to the top teams.
OOPSIES:
Just like mulligans in golf, "oopsies" are stickers purchased ahead of time and when your team doesn't know an answer, you can use an "oopsie." Up to 5 "oopsies" can be purchased per team for $10 for all five. Additional guidelines on how to use your "oopsies" will be given that night.
CONTESTS: Three contests will be held during the Quiz Bowl - Best Team Name, Best Decorated Table & Best Team Spirit. Best Team Name and Best Decorated Table will be announced between Rounds 5 & 6. Best Team Spirit will be announced after Round 9. If you wish, you can decorate your table, coordinate your outfits and of course, have fun throughout the evening! Prizes will be awarded.
RAFFLE PRIZES:
Raffle prizes will be awarded throughout the night to those who purchase (one for $5 or five for $20) playing cards. Playing cards will be sold ahead of time and you must be present to win.
